AVG Antivirus
AVG Antivirus by Grisoft is simply the most powerful antivirus program on the market. Not only do they have a free version for home users, but they also send updates regularly and scan faster than any other program I've ever seen. Give them a try.

Excellent alternative to MS Office, and it's free. Quite possibly the best office suite no one ever knew existed.

This program tells you everything about your computer that you never wanted to know and then some other stuff you didnt know you didn't want to know. this software will actually tell you your own service keys.

Fairstars CD Ripper
XoRadio Loves this little program. Although winamp pro will also rip cds, this seems to be just a little faster for our needs. Give it a try.

WinRAR
Hands down, this is the most complete archival software available on the internet. although this is a commercial program, the only limitation to its free use are the nag screens.
